For Manitoba’s Steinbach Credit Union, the growth vision wasn’t big and expansive: It was big and pinpointed.
As one of Canada’s largest credit unions, it may come as a surprise that Steinbach operates on a lean brick-and-mortar model with just three standalone branches. With so few locations shouldered with representing its physical brand, when it came time to add a large-scale, landmark building on Winnipeg’s west side, Steinberg wasn’t about to hold back.
Neither was NewGround's Canadian division: First Financial Building Corporation. To rise to the oversized project challenge, FFBC utilized 3D virtual design to explore facility concepts that would meet four client criteria in the real world: 1) Leading-edge architecture; 2) A progressive interior reflecting the Steinbach brand and hands-on service approach; 3) Spacious storage for operations technology; and 4) Bountiful green building features.
Meanwhile, adding to this already tall order was the City of Winnipeg’s byzantine site plan review process, which FFBC helped Steinbach navigate smoothly to minimize project delays. Flash-forward to the end-result: Dynamic, awe-inspiring architectural and interior design featuring an ultra secure main server location plus ample green features including geothermal heating and cooling, triple-glazed windows, high insulation values, and white heat-reflecting roof.
Talk about delivering in a big way, eh?
