Yakima facility serves financial customers, hosts community events
CHESTERFIELD, Mo., January 26, 2021–NewGround, a St. Louis-based innovative architecture, design, and project management firm, recently announced the completion of Baker Boyer Bank’s new regional headquarters space in Yakima, Washington.
With a showstopping view of the Yakima Valley, the 18,835 square foot space will be considered one of the premiere buildings in the area—uniquely different than any other typical new commercial building. The Yakima facility is designed specifically around the concept of creating a private and secure customer experience that embodies Baker Boyer Bank’s simple and elegant brand. From the moment guests enter the vestibule of the building, they are greeted with a branded welcome message that represents Baker Boyer Bank’s three main regional presences. Leading down to the lower level, the large-scale historical building imagery in the stairwell clues visitors into the longevity of the brand and their vision for the future.
“We pride ourselves on our experience with relationship building the second a client walks in the door,” said Mark Kajita, President and CEO at Baker Boyer Bank. “Our job is to give them a sense of empowerment and opportunity. I had this feeling that NewGround really got us and understood the experience we were envisioning our clients to have,” said Mark.
After 150 years of evolution as the oldest bank in the state of Washington, Baker Boyer Bank has tailored their approach to fit the needs of not only their customers—but also their local community. Unlike any space before, this was less about a retail branch and more about a regional presence. In addition to consultation rooms, private offices, and fitness spaces, the regional headquarters also offers a community room and breakout space to host larger bank and community events. With a variety of furniture options, the community room can be reconfigured as necessary to meet the needs of many different types of events, from training to lectures.
NewGround provided interior design services, complete with a furniture package, environmental graphics, and corporate artwork for this branded community space, and served as the Project Manager during the construction process.
