With the influence of technology and the rekindling of vintage design, staying on-trend can pose challenges in 2025. Being true to your brand, while offering unique consumer experiences is the new expectation in design. NewGround industry experts shared what they are seeing clients and trends lean toward in 2025.
Staying Relevant with Technology
Our Regional Interiors Lead, Lindsay Wehmeier, has worked in the design industry for over a decade across multiple disciplines. “We are continuing to see technology having a huge impact on our industry,” she says. “We are just starting to break the surface on how AI can help us in design with anything from defining design styles for mood boards to creating early renderings for conveying a conceptual design idea for inspiration or even organizing research-driven data that may assist us in understanding workloads and who on our team is best aligned with a client needs.” In 2025, we may see businesses lean into technologies such as AI to help enhance their expertise and increase the draw of clients and consumers.
Making a Statement
Experimenting with a space to include unique features such as hidden lounges, book nooks, graphics, neon lights, cafes, or coffee shops can help brands stand out. We worked with institutions, CFG Bank and CME Federal Credit Union to create unique spaces like those listed above. These types of unique stand-out spaces help attract and draw people in, working as both an incentive for consumers and potential new talent.

All About Color
Colors that provide deep contrast, such as pairing dark tones with warm neutrals, have been trending in 2024 and should continue to trend in 2025. “Many are calling for a warm dusty purple as the popular color for 2025,” Lindsay says. The color, similar to this Benjamin Moore shade in Cinnamon Slate, is predicted to be a top hue in the upcoming year. Color is an accessible way to add character to a space and create dynamic visuals that leave lasting impressions.
Mixing Styles
Mixing specific design and architectural trends can assist brands in creating a unique style that sets them apart from competitors. At NewGround, our team sees clients pick more rounded and softer edges within furniture choices while choosing modern structures that represent their branding. Compiling and pulling from multiple inspirations can elevate your impact and let your brand communicate from the moment a consumer steps inside your space.
Overall, trends can be valuable, but the most important thing to consider is how design can communicate your brand’s authenticity. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for design in 2025!
